Yeah, I live in the Atlanta suburbs and have fiber internet and this still irritates me like sand in a wet bathing suit.
On the one hand: I get it, EA sells a lot of multiplayer games and the Sims 4 being single-player is kind of weird, probably because it’s old. So the EA app was probably written assuming that people would be playing online.
On the other hand, the Sims 4 has over 70 million players and has generated over a billion dollars in revenue.
I mean. I like to make sure my mods are compatible before I upgrade, so I’ve told the EA app to hold its horses 🐎 and on patch day it tells me I need to patch before I can play, so I go offline. This is a minor inconvenience compared to a Naval officer at sea, etc., but I think it’s a reasonable use case for a single player game. 🤷🏻♀️
