I have windows 7, upon attempting to install the EA app the INST-14-1603 - Unknown fatal error shows up. I read the article from EA about solutions for these errors and despite trying multiple times to install any missing VC Redistributables it didn't solve the issue. I saw in other comments that people "repaired" the redistributables which I also tried, then another suggestion was to uninstall ALL of them which again did not solve the problem.
I literally bought this older Win 7 laptop in order to play the Sims 2 which is impossible to play on my newer laptop due to compatibility issues, I need a solve and EA is less than useless in providing real time tech support.
