Install on external usb stuck at 49% preparing

I play on a Mac via external hard drive. My EA folder is on a separate usb I use and has all my saves, mods, tray files etc on there.

Since the update I have had to buy another usb as I had little storage left on my Mac and my current usb has about 64GB left and I need at least 85GB.

Long story short I have tried time and time again to install the sims 4 app onto my usb and its always stays at 49%. I uninstall, change where the download goes and have tried two separate usb's. It just never seems to go past the preparing part and never goes past 50%.

Have I gone out and bought the wrong usb's? What could be the issue here?

    Thank you for the speedy response.

    I'll try this tonight and reply with an update.

  • @Bluebellflora this will do absolutely nothing other than waste hours/days/weeks of your time maybe.... who knows??
    I already know this because my settings were formatted to these initially before my first download (including game download location) and just like thousands of angry gamers worldwide i cant access the game i paid for because EA has FORCED ME to upgrade to some app that I DID'T ASK FOR!! everything worked perfectly in Origin for almost 5 years... now i cant even START DOWNLOADING the goddamn game (11 days + counting)
    the problem is the EA APP and nothing else... what a goddamn joke

    @Bullworth_Queen

    What access does EA App and TS4 have in System Settings > Privacy & Security on your Mac and what is the installation location of both?
