Hey everyone,
I wanted to check something with you all.
Can you see if the game's language changes only when you install a DLC? Please try installing just the base game without any DLC and check if it remains in your preferred language. Then, install any of your owned DLCs and see if the game language changes.
Let me know what you find!
Hello!
I discovered the following details:
- I deleted The Sims 4 game but did not delete the Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 folder.
- I opened the EA app and chose the Download option.
- I selected the Russian language from the drop-down menu in the language settings on the download page (there were Russian, Polish, and Czech options).
- I downloaded and installed only the base game without any DLC.
- I started the game, and it launched correctly in Russian.
- I exited the game and the EA app.
- A few days later, I tried to launch the game again and got an installation error. Error message told that the game is not installed and suggested to restore (repair).
- I restored (repaired) the game (still only the base game without DLC).
- I launched the game, and it started in Czech.
Additionally, I realized that my account has three versions of the base game because I launched The Sims 4 from different locations during my travels. I bought the Russian version many years ago, which had only Russian, Polish, and Czech language options. Recently, the European and British versions were automatically added to my EA account at no cost (since the base game is now free). These new versions have new language options, including English. However, I cannot choose the English language when I install the game, even though I am in the UK now.
