I have this problem too. It's been happening for months at this point, since the Origin app was replaced by the EA app (it's not fixed devs...).
I just want to play Battlefront 2, which I bought from Steam and is the only thing I play on the app...
The problem loops as follows: I boot up my hotspot and log in to the app. Then, I proceed to put the app in offline mode, turn off my hotspot, and play Battlefront 2. After x minutes, the EA app boots me out to the desktop to give me the "due to a persistent error" message. I get back in my game and finish my session. Oftentimes the computer goes to sleep between this session and the next. When I go to play Battlefront 2 again, I receive a "We couldn't find your account info" message (Error code EC:201), and I am forced to repeat the cycle despite me frackin' pressing the "remember me" button (and for me it's extra infuriating, as I have two EA accounts for goof reasons. I often sign in twice because I sign in to the wrong one.)
Like I and the original poster said, this pseudo-offline shenanigans has been happening since the Origin app swapped to the EA app (with some relief since --the offline button actually works now --- yet no respite to the issue). It's getting quite unbearable. Developers, please please please fix this. I actually had a positive image of your company before I bought my game. If this keeps happening over the next few months, I may try to find a way to sever my game from your app permanently. It's been that incredibly frustrating.
