New PC & trying to DL TS4 at 2Mbps

As the heading implies, trying to download TS4 and it's slow, ridiculously slow. New PC so there's nothing that should be a problem. I did go on Steam and downloaded a game there and it was 22Mbps. I then went to Nvidia to download the most recent driver and it's downloading at 229Mbps.

Someone wanna explain why EA is slowing my download to a sludge speed? I'm well aware that others have had this issue, as well, but it sure seems fishy. And with like 46 packs to download and it's literally taken me an entire football game just to get halfway through the base game, I'm guessing it will be at least until next Tuesday that I regain the use of my PC. I even did a speed check on my Amazon tablet and it has download speeds of 16Mbps.

The GPU died on my previous PC so I've been out of service for 4 months (deciding what to do), so I've been a bit eager to get back on. In case you want to know the level of my frustration and ire.

Internet and Wi-Fi connection varies from time to time. Large games are not suitable for gaming companies, so do not blame the company that provides the Internet

Golly, at no time did I blame the company that provides the internet. I have Google Fiber and, as I said, other things were downloading much more quickly. I literally asked why EA seemed to be an exception, as have many people before me, with no resolution.

I got my first PC in 1991 so yeah, I'm fully aware of the variations with the internet, but this is exceptional. GF never gives the 1G they advertise but at least it's usually NOT like this.

I've been playing The Sims for 25 years so have been through many iterations of Maxis, EA, Origins, EA again.... and especially with the last two, things like this coming up. This is a new PC using Windows 11 (which I frankly dislike) so I'm also musing as to whether there are issues with Win 11 that might cause downloading problems. My previous PC ran Win10 and downloading the Sims was never this slow.
