None of my packs will work

I havent played sims in a while since i am a busy student and when i logged in tonight i went into start a new game but noticed none of my packs were there. They all said they were owned/installed/downloaded in my recent download history yet none of them actually worked. i cant load any of my saved games because ive used my "magically non-existent" packs in them.  i am a mac user and i have tried just about everything; uninstalling sims and ea, repairing the game, updating the game, updating my laptop, app recovery, making sure my sims 4 packs folder is in the same place as my sims game, removing mods, creating a new sims folder, everything that i have found online yet nothing has worked so far. I have spent a lot of money on this game for it to just not work. i dont know if this is just an issue due to updates but if anyone has any tips on getting my packs to actually work it would be greatly appreciated!
