Just tried loading EA Desktop tonight.. and it worked!!
Finally, after many weeks of having it crash every day it didn't crash at all tonight.
I checked the version number and it appears that there was a new patch version a couple of days ago so I'm guessing that patch fixed it.
No more double "oops something exploded" pop-ups.

the issue is still occuring for me. Any fixes?
Weirdly enough, switching from Power saver battery mode to Balanced on Hybrid mode (Lenovo) fixes this issue for me.
The application won't launch when in Windows 10 battery saver mode. Is this a bug?
I don't think that this is a bug @checkyourfax, the Battery Saver mode does a bunch of things in the background to help you conserve power when a system is running on battery.
