The EA app is not installed on my device but when I try to install it I get "looks like the EA app is already installed, Do you want to activate it?" I press the yes button and it tells me the pathway does not exist. Surely someone can advise me because I can not play any games which i have paid for.

I'm having the same problem, i haven't been able to play since this new update. Its saying my application not found. I've tried everything! I've deleted everything and tried to reinstall with no luck.

I'm an old lady and not sure what you want. I know where the file explorer is but after that I don't know what you are asking of me

Hi ccrydevil666 & DaWaterRat ,
This issue is not related to the original topic of this thread. What you’re describing was a separate problem, and it has already been resolved, as explained here: [FIXED] EA app keeps saying I need to verify age | EA Forums - 13158203.
To set expectations for everyone else reading this:
- This thread is only about one specific issue:
The EA app shortcut cannot find the EA app installation on the computer. - This means Windows is trying to open the EA App, but the shortcut points to a location that no longer exists.
This is the issue originally reported here by the OP: can't launch ea app | EA Forums - 13155615.
Nothing else is being investigated in this thread.
If you’re experiencing a different problem, please start a new thread so it can be looked at properly. That helps keep things clear and avoids confusion for others.
Now, dee15644 , one quick check that helps narrow this down:
- Can you open File Explorer (the yellow folder icon),
- Manually go to the folder shown in the error message,
- And confirm whether the EA app files are still there?
If the files are missing, the app may have been moved or removed. If the files are still there, then the shortcut itself is likely broken.
Let us know what you find.

It has to be a bug in the app. I have the same issue. I opened EA almost 3 hours ago and it had an age verification that wouldn't go away. Then 45 minutes later I come back to see if it will let me play and the entire short cut is missing from my desktop. No matter what I do it will not load and it will not allow me to uninstall and reinstall. Repair options doesn't work either.

I'm also having trouble with the app. I re-downloaded, tried reparing, and now it can't connect to EA. I have verified that my connection is up and running, so unless the EA Servers are being hyper sensitive (it is cold, our connection does get flakey) I see no reason why I shouldn't be able to connect.

I have uninstalled the app but it wont reinstall. Message it sends says the app is already installed.
