Subject: Battlefront 2 isn't downloading via EA App

I’m having a major issue downloading Star Wars Battlefront II via the EA App through my Epic Games account.

When I first started the download, it caused Windows File Explorer (file manager) to crash/freeze entirely, and I had to manually restart the PC. After that, the download reached 2%, but now it is stuck on the "Preparing" stage and has been like that for over an hour.

I have already tried reinstalling the EA App, but the issue persists. The download simply won't progress past 2% and the "Preparing" status.
