Purchased game from 2016 not in EA App (Mac)

I recently came back to EA / Origin to see if I could play an old game that I purchased back in 2016. The game was Sim City Complete Edition.

Because my laptop is now MacOS Monterey, I had to install the EA App on my Macbook Pro.

When I go into the Library in the EA App, the game is not there. The Library is empty. Can anyone please help me solve this? I have the proof of purchase on my email, and it is showing on my EA Account on the website.

cheers

Lawrence

  • Well, after some searching, it seems that the game is only supported on 32-bit versions of MacOS (and Windows).

Come on EA.... don't you think a friendly message in the EA App would be useful? It's not that hard is it, and would save some of us a lot of time.

Now I notice that the game is showing in the Library under "Unavailable games" (it wasn't there before!). There is no message to say *why* it is not available.

    Hi @c58b0e647561a38a,

If you look at the Mac system requirements for SimCity™, it says the following:

    Mac minimum requirements

    • OS: macOS Leopard (10.5.7) through macOS Mojave (10.14.x). This game will only run on macOS versions that support 32-bit applications.
    • Processor: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo
    • Memory: 2GB RAM
    • Storage: 12GB HD Space
    • Graphics Card: INTEL HD 3000, NVIDIA® GeForce® 9600M or ATI™ Radeon™ HD 2600 Pro or better
    • Online Connection Requirements: Minimum 256 kbps download, 64 kbps upload

Meaning that it is likely the case that it will not work for you on your Mac because your Mac/macOS is 64-bit.

    Hope this helps.
