RESOLVED Outage Apr. 30 - May 1, 2024. "There's a Problem With Your Download" or "Something Went Wrong" Error in EA app.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your reports.

Our teams have shared that the services are showing signs of recovery. This should mean that the "There's a problem with your download" or "Something went wrong" error in the EA app while downloading or installing games or DLCs (exact errors shown below), has been fixed.

There's a problem with your download

Something went wrong

Could you please try logging out of the EA app and Xbox app for PC, closing it, then logging back in to see if the games are now able to be downloaded/installed without errors and appear correctly? If not, give an EA app App Recovery (๐Ÿ‘ˆ it's a hyperlink) a shot and try again.

  • Confirmed that I've closed the Xbox and EA apps, restarted them and can now start my download of Jedi Survivor.

    I have EA Play through my Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

  •  Ohhhhh great, last time 4 min left to finish the download now 51 hrs. remain. Great job. ๐Ÿ˜ 

  • Same here, power outrage/crash, then the issue, cleared cache and its cleared my 130 gig download!

  • Still stuck in preparing and nothing changed after i try the below suggested solution. Please do something i really want to play F1 23.

    Summarize your bug Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order 
    How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
    Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Try EA App clear Cache Epic Games Launcher Cache and reinstall apps but still something went wrong error incoming
    What happens when the bug occurs? The download errors after staying on preparing for around a minute
    What do you expect to see? Download the Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order game in to the Epic Games Launcher

    I can`t launch/download the any EA game in Epic Games Launcher, I get an error : "To continue linking your EA Account, head back and start over." I tried to uninstall EA App and install from original site and App Recovery but still the same problem, would you please help me how to fix this problem. I tried reinstall EA App and Epic Games Launcher and clear caches but my problem still the same problem.

    Hi all,

    Please make sure to double-check the error that you're getting and ONLY reply in this thread if you're getting the "There's a problem with your download" or "Something went wrong" error in EA app, no other error. If you're getting this error, please provide the requested data on page 1 of this thread.

    If you're getting a different error, please either reply to a recent thread that is about your specific error, or create a new one.

  • I am a player from China. Playing APEX for nearly 2000 hours on the EA platform
    On May 11th, when I was preparing to update APEX, I was prompted with a download failure and tried dozens of times but still failed.
    I chose to uninstall and reinstall the game, but after reinstalling and downloading the game itself, I restarted downloading and encountered download errors again.
    I have made the following attempts
    1. Clear EA cache
    2. Using Game Accelerator (VPN)
    3. Restart EA
    4. Restart the computer
    I confirm that the network is functioning properly and the games on other gaming platforms are functioning properly. Not only on EA.

  • After reinstalling the Game multiple times and still having the "something went wrong" problem, I've decided to add my infos as well and hoping for a quick and easy fix.

    Please share an EA app Error Reporter ID here in the thread:
    I've opened some tickets via help.ea.com and I hope these help as well #184741841, #184404552, #184348615. I'm german, so the tickets are in german as well.
