This worked for me
Win+R -> intl.cpl
Administrative tab
Click the Change system locale button.
Enable Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support
Rebootalso if you uncheck the 'keep me signed in' it works without the above for me.

Keep in mind that this option if ticked can break some old programs.
Did anyone tried to change the language above this option (see photo)?
Can you write here in the thread what language do you have there that is incompatible with ea app?

- @majorospeter98 Wow, this solved it for me. The support was oblivious to this, they had no idea what so ever, asked me to clear the edge cache etc.

Path:
Control Panel > Clock and Region > Region > Administrative tab > Change system locale button > enable Beta:Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support

when i try to launch the ea app the ea app turns into a dark blue rectangle and i can't do anything. I've tried everything to fix it but nothing works. does anyone know what i should do?

Under no circumstances is it acceptable for an EA Dev to praise two clients needing Dev Support with working something out themselves. FIX THIS PATHETIC AND USELESS so-called Games Launcher App. that EA has FORCED down peoples throats that NOBODY wanted. There is a reason NOBODY participated in the Beta - nobody cares about EA's opinions on anything with the way EA runs its business and how it interacts with THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO MATTER - the Gamers !! Ive read many of YOUR comments and they have provided ZERO help at any stage AND THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE. Get the REAL Dev's on here with ACTUAL support - this is not a Chat Forum, its where people come to have their problems RESOLVED without having to become a Dev themselves.

Nothing in this thread resolved it for me either. Beta utf8 thing didn't fix it. Nor did disabling keep me signed in.
Not sure about other folks, but solutions mentioned in this thread doesn't work. I run windows 10 64-bit latest build with KIS total security. Let me repeat, the solutions provided here does not work for me. Forced migration from Origin to EA app... I can get over this. But losing cloud saves and then losing access to my games are not OK. Totally unsure how a company as big as EA could mess up a simple launcher is beyond my comprehension, as of 2023. Get your game up EA.
its been nearly 3 weeks since my daughter had to download the ea app, since this change she has not been able to launch either ea app or the sims 4, i found in the log files an error that reads "10 [2023-02-19T11:15:59.170Z] PID: 26068 TID: 24568 ERROR (eax::components::gameLocalServices::GlsComponent::handleQtApplicationReady) An unrecoverable error happened when starting the app, handlers are not initialized."
i have been in discussion with EA an apparently this is the global fault that is affecting millions of players, completely unforgivable that it has taken this long and still going to resolve

DarkoWe shouldn’t have to do this just to try and get the ea app to work. Many people still having issues with it, many of our games that we paid for aren’t showing up in the library. Why move us to a completely broken app when Origin worked just fine?
