Shady Acres Sims have trouble getting on and off lots

I just moved a large family into the Mayor's house in shady acres. The welcome wagon came and ended but the people would not leave. they ate all my food and even started sleeping in my beds. I even fought a lady but she would not leave nor would the other guests even after i locked all the door.  My child gets stuck in front of a neighbors house after coming home from school and i have to walk her around the curved walkway and down the street before she can make it to the house. i went to visit the neighbors house and found i couldn't leave their house either. i went to play a household in another hood and the issue was not there. anyone know how i can fix this? I think it's the world that is causing sims to get stuck. very frustrating cuz its beautiful up there but i cant be traveling to another lot via phone to get these people off my lot. thanks to anyone who can help.
