I literally had the same issue just now literally a few days after you posted this 02/17.
I had the same run around with EA support with the links to clear the cache, run as an administrator etc.
I found a work around by installing Origin and downloading the game that way!

I'm having the same issue with Pets - unfortunately I don't remember the code (was bought online). Is there away around this or will I need to purchase another copy? Also, have you had any issues with Sims 3 saving? I've built numerous homes and save but when I sign back on later all the work is missing. Thank you for your help!

For everyone reading, I know that EA people have been investigating this issue. Judging from the time it's taken to address other Sims 3 issues, the lack of a response here doesn't mean that this particular problem has been forgotten or that no one cares. It's probably just that no update is available.
Sims 3 issues do get fixed; I can think of two major ones this year that were in fact addressed, eventually. (And updates from EA people were somewhat sporadic but always showed up when there was any new info.) But the EA App has a lot of problems—just look at the other threads on this forum—and perhaps not a large-enough team to address them all in timely fashion.

@puzzlezaddict I sincerely hope you're right, but they've ignored both cases I've opened. And, the last time I had something like this keep me from playing a new purchase, it was never resolved and they refused to refund me. So, I'm sadly not as optimistic.
But, again, I sincerely hope you're right and that they completely defy their reputation as a dysfunctional company and come through this time. Fingers crossed.

Hi there I cannot download the pack Movie Stuff, it keeps on preparing and after some time an error message appears with try again later. Which i did since last Sunday.
In the past I still used a WIN 10 Pro 64bit Pc and the Origin App and I had no problems, all the DLCs I own would download and I could play without problems.
Now I switched my Software to WIN 11 Pro 64bit and to the EA App. The reason for the App because of Wild Hearts, since Origin App do not support that game anymore.
I still use the same Hardware since 2020, some changed but overall the same and I had no Problems playing Sims 3 and all its packs since last year during the holidays in 2022, which is the last time I played Sims 3.
My Pc had a fresh wipe since last month after the WIN Software update and all other Games works fine especially Sims 4, which great. Yeah you could say I basically own everything related to Sims. Well since Sims 1 I am a huge fan :D
