I literally had the same issue just now literally a few days after you posted this 02/17.
I had the same run around with EA support with the links to clear the cache, run as an administrator etc.
I found a work around by installing Origin and downloading the game that way!

That doesn’t work for me origin no longer works on pc
I can't get Into the Future or Movie Stuff to install via the EA App. And if I cancel the downloads there isn't any way to resume them. Origin won't work for me either on PC. ☹️ The games are just stuck in the preparing stage. Glad to know it isn't just me, but bummed there isn't a decent fix for it yet.
