HEY THERE,
I literally had the same issue just now literally a few days after you posted this 02/17.
I had the same run around with EA support with the links to clear the cache, run as an administrator etc.
I found a work around by installing Origin and downloading the game that way!
I hope this helps 🙂)
This didn’t work for me ☹️ . In saying that where else were people downloading it from because I thought I could only do it through Origin anyway? (Mac user here if that makes a difference)

Still haven't been able to download Showtime and University Life after trying various fixes for the past 3 days (Cleaning cache, installing and uninstalling Sims 3 & EA app, renaming Sims 3 folder, installing on another drive, installing origin (unable due to downloading error).
This seems to have been going on for a very long time and no response or official fixes by EA staff is honestly baffling. I would like to be able to download and play the packs I paid for! 🙂

I have the same problem, 5 of my expansions won't install. I've tried everything and nothing works. It's absurd that this isn't a recent error, but there's still no solution to this day. EA, as always, is a joke and incompetent in everything it does...

I finally got my expansions to finish downloading because I found an old exe for Origin on my husband's computer. When it launched Origin, the pop-up saying I need to update to EA App came up and stopped me from doing anything, but it still continued to finish downloading in the background.
