Alrighty, at this point EA never ceases to find new ways to make playing our games difficult. Here's a link to another thread for this exact same issue. It seems to have a lot more responses, although I don't know if any of them are fixes. But out of 48 pages of responses, I hope one of them helps. EA_Cade (Community Manager) posted a tweet from EA / TheSimsDirect that said the EA team is currently attempting to resolve the issue. Again, why didn't EA stop letting people pay for Sims 3 expansions when people were saying for weeks that they kept getting errors when attempting to download the expansions? But I digress. Luckily, I still have my "OriginThinSetUp" file in my downloads on my computer. After I uninstalled the EA App, I was able to download Origin again. I mean, it didn't help at all because I forgot that the Library tabs [and all the other ones that would have let me redownload my packs] were missing, and that was the reason I had to initially move to the EA App. I'm going to attempt to uninstall The Sims 3 again, and then install it outside of the "EA Games" folder in my "Program Files (x86)" directly. I think a video was saying that helped someone download a different game from the EA App that also kept saying "Something went haywire...". If that works [but it will most likely not sadly], I'll let everyone know. But in the meantime, I'm going to copy my original post from here and add it to the other thread as well.

So, yeah. That did not work. I just submitted a survey for my experience with the EA App. At some point either later on tonight or tomorrow I will attempt to make contact with a customer service representative. I plan on asking for all of my registration/game codes for the packs I purchased. Hopefully, I can get my expansions that way. If anyone plays The Sims 3 more than I have (about a year) please let me know if that whole using "game codes" to download my expansions from the launcher/main menu is even a thing. Thank you!

Today I bought 5 expansions packs for the sims 3 and didn't know there's an issue with this whole thing ☹️ But when I bought expansion a month ago everything was fine on Origin ☹️(( I hope they will fix it soon ☹️

I've been playing the sims 3 for over a decade; I lost touch with it a few years ago and I'm trying to get back into it. Had all the expansions purchased already and I'm only experiencing this issue with the new app. Never on Origin did I run into an issue like this, and even when there were bugs the staff were tentative and would help you with all of your issues almost immediately and you could even talk to them personally on the phone. This new EA App is ridiculous and it's been bug after bug with no resolutions. Over a year for a bug that won't let people download games??? The whole point of the goddamn app?? Lmao it's crazy, and they're allowing people to spend their money on things they can't even use. At least make them unpurchasable for the time being or give a notice saying there is a bug you're working on that may affect the purchase you're making! I'm sorry you wasted your birthday money on the expansions, and I hope they get this resolved soon for everyone's sake or we'll all be demanding refunds and I'm sure they wouldn't want that.
