I have been dealing with this problem for over a year now. My previous thread was moved to another thread marked solved. But my problem is NOT solved.
Taken from my initial post,
"When I try to run The Sims 4 game, I keep getting this message. "The app couldn't read the game's license file, so If the problem continues, try clearing your cache."
I have been having this problem since the last EA App update. I can run other games with the app. I seems only The Sims 4 is affected.
I have cleared the cache several times as suggested. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the EA App, as well as launching the EAUpdater.exe. I did the repair game option a couple of times. I have disabled my anti-virus and VPN. I have tried to find any solutions on the forum, but I have only seen other players posting about having the same problem, but not getting any answers or help. Other then moving and locking of posts."
Since I made this post, I can not play any games in my library now. When I try, I get the same message. So this is an issue with the app. I have made multiple error reports.
Hi Han. I'm a little late to the party, but also anybody who has come into this issue. I had this issue too. There's a difference between Xbox pc subscription that links to EA play and the Xbox. Ultimate, the Xbox ultimate has a cloud gaming, which then doesn't cross entitlement. And when I unlinked my Xbox account directly through the EA account, I was able to have my own licensing, be the primary licensing and able to run my Sims games again. I'm now troubleshooting on if having EA play only through my Xbox app still grants me access to certain games, but for now I have resolved The Sims issue. Do not have your xbox account?Linked into your e a account. It will overlap the licensing, especially if you're only using the xbox pc subscription
