Sims 4 - "unavailable for purchase" error

I have downloaded the EA app and go to download sims 4 but it says sims 4 unavaliable to download and i cannot figure out how i can download the game, is this normal?? please help me

the base game of Sims 4 is free to play, so as long as that's the one you're trying to play, you shouldn't be having issues.

Did you previously play the game using an EA Play subscription?

Could you try emptying the EA app cache and try again after that to see if that helped? 

I've tried both the website and the EA app on my laptop and neither will work.

EA app says I have to subscribe to ea play to play sims but from what I've read online it says you don't need too?

EA website lets me click the play for free button but I then get stuck at the continue to check out button that doesn't work?

Sims 4 shows “Not available for purchase” on the EA App and website. I’m in NZ on Mac (fully updated). I’ve cleared cache, reinstalled the EA App, restarted, logged out/in, and checked region settings SEVERAL times. Other games download fine.

I live in New Zealand and I have a MacBook Air (2022). Whenever I try to download The Sims 4 on the EA App, it says the game is “no longer in our catalog” or “unavailable.”

I’ve checked that my macOS is fully up to date, restarted my laptop, and even logged out and back into the EA App, but nothing has worked.

Has anyone else on Mac (especially in NZ) had this issue, or does anyone know how to fix it?

Yes this is happening to me too! Can not download on my Macbook, the checkout button does not work on the EA website and sims 4 does not even appear on the EA app...
