Sims 4 greyed out EA app issue
I play the sims 4 on Mac. Always have. I bought the sims 4 (before they decided to make it free to play) and I’ve also bought a good bit of the dlcs and expansions, all on Origin for Mac. Not steam or Xbox game pass. Origin. Meaning my games were all MAC compatible. I don’t use windows on my MAC at all and never had to in order to play the game. The EA app came out with a MAC version that I was then forced to switch to from Origin. I made the switch and was still able to play all of my Mac compatible games on my Mac. Now I login to the EA app today and it’s notifying me how sims 4 is now available on Mac, which confused me because it’s always been available on Mac. The versions I bought were Mac versions. Not Mac and windows. Just Mac. The ea app is now claiming that all of the dlc I bought are “windows only” versions. Which is not true because again, I bought MAC versions of the game! I haven’t owned a windows computer in over a decade and I never used boot camp or anything of the sort to sideload windows onto my computer. Nothing should be “windows only” because I wouldn’t have been able to download windows anything onto my MacBook Pro! So now all of my games are greyed out and it’s behaving as if I have to repurchase $100s of dollars worth of dlc, but I can redownload the base game for free. Please tell me EA has not stooped so low as to want to force people to repurchase games that have been working just fine up until now. And no I don’t have ea game pass or anything of the sort. I literally booted up my game two days ago I. The Ea app with no problem and now suddenly I’ve lost all access. Suddenly it’s windows only?
What I’ve found so far are work arounds from 4 years ago when there was not an EA app available for MAC. Now there is and Origin for mac is not even available in the App Store anymore so it’s not like I can go back to that. And I’m confused as to why I’m having this issue now in 2024, months after having downloaded the Mac version of the EA app. I need a solution because what I’m not about to do is repurchase anything. I will gladly give up playing sims 4 before I do that. What I’m upset about is the money I spent on these games only to not have access to them now. How do I go about either getting access to my games or getting a full refund regardless of how long ago I purchased?
