For an entire day, The Sims 4 has been stuck at the "preparing" stage despite my attempts to resolve the issue. I have verified my internet connection, uninstalled and reinstalled the EA app multiple times, restarted the download process, cleared the cache, and even moved the EA app to an external drive with over 200GB of space. Despite all of these efforts, the Sims 4 consistently gets stuck at 57% during the "preparing" stage whenever I attempt to download it on the EA app. I am seeking assistance in resolving this issue. Please help soon.

  • So, i recently got a new laptop and downloaded sims 4 on ea. all the packs downloaded fine, but the couple i installed on steam are stuck on preparing.  i reinstalled sims 4 on steam and all the packs work fine, but having two base games takes up all my storage. how can i get all my packs to work with only the necessary storage?

@hightiger12  If you want to install content you own in Steam, you'll need to install the Steam version of the base game.  Remove the EA App version, install the Steam version if it's not already present, and download the packs you own in Steam.  Then sign into the EA App and download the packs you own there, but NOT a second copy of the base game.  The packs' data should go into the Steam version's program files, and Sims 4 itself should then load all the packs you own in both apps.
