"We were unable to verify your credit or debit card."

I am trying to buy a bundle and get as far as to check-out. When I enter my payment information I get the message:

"Your request could not be processed.
We were unable to verify your credit or debit card. Please check your payment details and try again. Alternatively try another credit card or payment option or check with your card issuer or bank."

I have tried with different cards just to be sure, and also made sure I enter the correct information - many times.

I have browsed EA support sites for a good while without finding helpful advice, but I can see in the forums that a few others have had the same problem. Has anyone figured out what works? Is this perhaps a well-known issue with EA payments, and if yes, can anything be done?

    Please try the following steps to clear up this error:

    • Use a different payment method
    • Make sure your billing details in the EA app match the billing details for your card
    • Remove and re-add your payment method from your account
    • Make sure the location on your account matches your real location

    If you still have issues once you've run through these steps, we'll need the live support team to investigate into this a bit further, as we don't have access to review your account details here on the forums.   • @EA_Solaire I have the same problem and this cliche methods does not work. Has been looking for a way to get to live support (through the link provided), still couldn't find the link to get live support (even before the holiday).

    This is getting extremely frustrating.

    I'm having the same problem right now, so clearly this glitch is still around. My card works everywhere else -except- the EA App, and the link to put in a help request was literally NO help to me.

  • I have the same issue and I'm sorry and I know you mean well but this doesn't help. I have checked multiple times for typos when filling in. I even checked to see whether the problem was not filling the names in uppercase. And I believe suggesting to try another payment method is a cop-out. As long as the card is valid and has sufficient funds, this shouldn't be a problem. Especially if many have stated that they were able to carry out other transactions elsewhere with the exact same card.

    This is a suggestion that it's time to look from within. For all you know, it may be a bug or glitch.

    exact same issue for me - i know it’s the right card as for every try on putting my details in it charges me £1? on a pending purchase. so far paid £7 to ea just trying to verify my details. can’t find any support just a useless ai chatbot can i get a phone number or email.
