Sims 4 won't download or update

Hey there, since recently I have experienced some issues with updating my game and re-downloading it. It first started when my game needed a regular update, which failed from time to time again. I decided to download the entire game in general and now the download fails to start in the first place.

I have checked my files and nothing seems odd about it. I also do not play with any mods or custom content. I play on a Macbook Pro M2 2022.

Has anyone experienced this for themselves as well or do you have a clue why this could happen?
