I'm getting the error "Save failed due to insufficient space" which then asks me to overwrite a save file (WHICH THERE ISN'T ONE AS EA CLOUD CORRUPTED EVERYTHING AND DELETED THEM ALL)
This is of course after attempting running as admin
updating graphics,
fresh reinstall
turning off 'read only' on ALL the folders and files associated with the game.
The only way the game launches is in compatibility mode for WINDOWS EIGHT... YES.. Windows 8.
Good god this is awful, been happily playing for 50 hours on steam and now all it does (without compatibility) is open the EA app and then nothing.. the app just sits their taunting me doing NOTHING.
I can;t repair it via EA app, steam is fully verified and had a fresh reinstall last night, still the same errors.
1) I can't open unless compatibility with WINDOWS 8
2) When it does open with W8 compatibility it goes '"Save failed due to insufficient space, please overwrite a save" - as mentioned above... EA cloud deleted them all already without me asking so their isn;t any.. and I have 560GB free storage on this SSD so it's not my end.
A new solution I stumbled into for anyone else still having trouble launching DAI is to set Origin to run as admin and compatibility mode. That did the trick for me and now DAI launches just fine with Steam, Origin, and Frosty. Perhaps it'd work for the EA app as well, but I'm hesitant to mess with things after finally getting it to work again.
Just bought the game on steam after getting that itch for playing the Dragon Age Trilogy again and for some reason DA:I is the only one that doesn't launch. No error or anything, it just closes and reopens EA app when I try to launch it, regardless if it's from Steam or the app itself. Hoping for a fix soon.
I had the, almost, exact same issue. I solved this by downloading the origin app and running it from there. It verified all the files and then launched flawlessly. The EA app started DAI screen went full, then black, then opened EA app back up. Origin app doesn't do that. For me at least
Mine doesn't work. Even when I uninstalled the entire DAI from Steam, and I uninstall EA app and installed the Origin App and DAI from there. Once I pressed the Play button on Origin, it process a little bit, but nothing happened, and the play button becomes active again. So it's like doing the same thing as it was on Steam and EA App. It's completely broken for me. And it's technically two separate copies of the game. Since the first time I bought it on Origin, and I used to play on it just fine. And when Steam re-released the game, I bought another copy on Steam and just used Steam from that point on. Now I can't launch the game from Steam, nor EA App, and not even in Origin app too.
What message does this send, when an official method of launching a game that I paid for "twice" doesn't work on any official platforms available while pirated/cracked versions of the same game can run without problems?
I am a huge fan of this game. I clocked over 2000 hours online and a lot more offline.
I can no longer play the game offline.
I will remember this EA. You lost a loyal customer.
If you make a sequel, i will not buy it.
If there is any indication you are linked to a game i am interested in, this will masively impact my decision.
You already have a "reputation". And they seem to be right about you.
Game's dead. Fabulous. Way to fix a bad rep, EA.
Hi,
Please, community, I am at my wits' end!
Two days ago Origin on my PC would not continue working, with a non-closable message saying I would have to switch to EA App. Since I saw no way around this, I did. DA Inquisition stopped working, but I figured since I had modded it with .DAI mods and frosty mods, this was almost to be expected. I tried everything I could find in these forums (which is the same customer support could think of), but still when I try to launch the game I get the message "An error on our end caused your launch to fail". :
- completely uninstalled (including savegames) and re-downlodoaded the game with no mods
- ran EA App as admin
- set DragonAgeInquisition.exe to run as admin
- deleted EA App cache (in several combinations with other steps)
- set exemption in AVG for EA App and Game folder
- even completely removed AVG, just to be sure
- updated Nvidia Drivers
- checked if there were any background apps that might interfere. According to troubleshooting checklist: none
- checked a tip from this forum concerning a mess-up in Environment Variables. Nothing there
- Of course: at each step restarted the system
- tried starting the game from Nvdia Geforce experience
- tried starting from Frosty Mod Manager (only after everything else had failed, until then hadn't messed with this install of the game at all)
- just to preclude the question: hardware is much more capable than required, and anyway until the switch from Origin to EA App everything was super smooth
Now, one tip from customer support I thought might work was a link to download Origin legacy. However when that installed, it tries to update itself to the current version (can`t stop it), which failed, which prompted me to install the current "live" version of Origin, which worked but again prompted me to switch to EA App.
Please, I don't have any more ideas. Oh, by the way I tried installing some other games; they work (including ME Andromeda, which I read is similar technology-wise).
Is there a way to run it without the EA app? It worked fine from Steam, not the other way around.
Finally got it running after 2 restarts and countless error messages. My original question stands. It really shouldn't be this hard to launch a 8yo game.
