The update starts without permission

The update starts without my permission. I checked the box in the settings to prevent updates from starting automatically, but even with that box checked, THE UPDATE STILL STARTS! It’s as if the button doesn’t work at all! As soon as I turn on my computer with an internet connection, the automatic update starts immediately, even though it’s disabled in the settings. PLEASE FIX THIS ALREADY!
