"There's a problem with your download"/"Something went wrong" EA app Error - '24

I purchased the generations expansion pack from ea games and cannot get it to download past 72%. i saw on the forums that others are having the same problem but cant find anything newer then april. are the packs working yet? im getting so frustrated looking for answers i keep going around in circles. i have deleted and reinstalled everything i dont know what else to do. if the packs are still not working, why isnt there a disclaimer when i purchased it this morning.
