What helped me was performing a "clear cache": https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
From the EA Desktop app
Select the three dashes in the far-left corner of EA Desktop.
Scroll to Help.
Click App recovery.
Select Clear cache.

I had this problem too. Due to the automatic EA App updates messing with mods, I have that turned off. I saw a comment about the EA App might need an update so went to C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop found the EAUpdater.exe and ran the update manually. Logged back into the EA App and yep, that annoying message has disappeared and the games are all back. Hopefully, this will help some people. 🙂
