I figured out that the EA Background Service crashes and when you try to Launch the App you'll get the error. The following worked evertime:
- Open Task-Manager -> Details and search for EA Background Services
- Right click and kill the process.
- Open EA App and it launches correctly.
Had to do this every restart of my computer.
I tried to do the App Recovery, but that didn't work (nothing happening except the App exits) when the EA Background Service crashed. So I did the steps above and then the App Recovery and now it starts consistently. For the moment at least.
@NessDanlen Thank you for the fix, this still works!
Adding my comment here just to point out that this issue is still happening to this day and preventing people from playing their own games. This really needs to be fixed

Thank you for letting us know. I will pass this along to the team and let them know!
- thecharsims3 years agoSeasoned Veteran@EA_Shepard This literally doesn't work. I cleared cache, restarted the app and even logged in and out from my pc and the EA app. That app is garbage. It's annoying seeing this thread on top when the solution doesn't even work.

What's been working for me (last I checked the "clear cache" method did nothing on my PC) is to open task manager and end the "EA Background Service" task. Shouldn't matter if you exit the EA App first, killing the background services seems to kill the app too. After relaunching the EA App, my games load properly.
