What helped me was performing a "clear cache": https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
From the EA Desktop app
Select the three dashes in the far-left corner of EA Desktop.
Scroll to Help.
Click App recovery.
Select Clear cache.

Dear EA Team. Respectfully, what the hell? It's been over a year of losing origin and this app has NEVER worked for me.. Your customer service never replies, and the "self-help" options either don't have what I need or are things that. aren't. working. The amount of forums on this is ridiculous.

This screenshot? It shouldn't be a problem. And your customer service isn't doing anything helpful.
Clearing Cache? Nope/.
Uninstalling/Reinstalling? Nope.
Ending background in Task Manager? Of course not.

Respectfully, I've spent more money than I'd like to admit over the YEARS with your company. Origin was NEVER a problem. And I have one, ONE, game on this account, and it won't open? What BS is that? Please fix it. because I'm fed up, this is ridiculous.

HUGE SOLUTION:
EA is one of the biggest frauds when it comes to game development and customer support. Talked with 5+ agents on chat and email and yet nothing could be resolved.

as to avoid removal of link here are steps
Go to r/origin on Reddit
look up lamborgg_furry_fox
a solution is posted, install Origin, then use Fuck_off_EA_App_Installer.exe and be done once and for all with this plagued stupid garbage good for nothing slow * stupid * fake * app
