Unable to play purchased game. Getting Error Message "There was a slight hiccup"

    Hey all, if seeing this issue you can generally fix it by starting to download any free EA game such as Apex Legends. Once the download has started stop it and then try your other games.

@EA_LeeuwYes, 2 of the three games are installed on the other drives. But one of the game is installed on C drive. I already tried clearing the cache, but it doesn't work. I also tried running FIFA21, (installed on another directory) using the application from the folder but received an error that some other user downloaded it. But, it was downloaded by me, with the same EA play account.

Hey @Budgie7455880,

So there currently is an issue with the EA Desktop app where something you can't select different drives to download games on while wanting to download a certain game. This could potentially be related to your issue, where the EA Desktop app can no longer find said games because they're maybe installed on another internal drive?

When you manually search for the game that's installed on your C drive or the other drives, are the files still there? And if so, how many GBs are those folders?

    @EA_LeeuwThe game that is installed on C:drive is "The Way Out. The files are still there: 21GB.

      @Budgie7455880, alright, so that should still be the full game.

      Odd situation indeed.

      Can you try one thing?

      When the EA App asks you to download the game again, please do so and manually point the install direction of the download to the folder where the game is currently download/installed on. Can you see if it actually indeed 100% fully wants to redownload the game? Of it is maybe speeds up itself and shows that it's downloading, but maybe actually performing a file scan instead?

        @EA_Leeuw It is not allowing me to click next while downloading, because the total space I have on C:drive is now less than 21GB. I already have some other programs installed on C: that I can't uninstall.

    Hi, same problem. Had reported it but no reply. Three friends same issue. Why is there no reply or fix if obviously lots of players affected. All EA Play Xbox live games affected. None of the other Xbox games problematic so it is an EA problem.

    Any idea?

      Try the apex legend download then cancel the download then try to download your game. Me and my friends were having the same issues and this worked.
