The CSR reps claimed I used the subscription service in November of 2019. I see no record in my financial history of paying for it. Even after they toggled it off it still didn't work. I also have or had no reason to ever use it as I don't care about the majority of your titles only Sims 4 and SimCity.
Their advice was to go back to Origin, but I'm not going to install software that makes my computer hang on shut down. I've given up again.
Might be interested in 4-5 months again but whatever I'm sure nothing will work then either. I can't go through this again. I spent 40 minutes yesterday having a rep ask me if I could log in to POGO and if my Disk was scratched when I asked for help with this. I'm an engineer who worked a career of technical support and I'm sorry but when someone comes to you with a problem about your digital distribution platform and you ask them about third party websites, and if their CD is scratched... I just... my god it was like talking to someone who believes the Earth is flat. I'm still not even sure that was an actual CSR versus some scammer who took a CSRs screen. WTF is pogo? Something I've never used.
@philosopherjake, alright. Hmm, I am afraid that if you're not willing to follow the workaround steps that the Advisor has presented to you, there isn't much we can do either. We and they are there to help. I understand the frustration, but we can only do so much here via the forums.

I found another workaround. The "Download a free game" workaround wasn't working for me and any other workaround in here.
I was trying to download a game that is available in game pass and was an EA title when I encountered this error...
Workaround:
1. Make sure EA app is closed. Search for "Apps & Features" app/settings in windows.
2. Find EA app and click uninstall, a window should pop up.
3. Select Uninstall on the mini prompt wherein it says "This app and its related info will be uninstalled"
4. Then a EA window will show up BUT Select REPAIR, instead of uninstall option
5. That's it. Wait for it to reinstall/repair the EA app.
6. Then proceed to redownload your game through Xbox app.
Hope this helps.

None of the solutions have worked for me, and I'm not saying this just to complain, I have tried everything and I'm sure that at least in my case, the problem is server-side. It has to be.
Installing a free game like Apex doesn't help since I already have Apex installed. But even installing any other game, what happens is as soon as I close (or clear cache, or completely reinstall) the EA Desktop app and reopen, I get the same list of "fake" downloads that will either auto-complete in a second since the games are already installed, or give the "slight hiccup" error.
Now I uninstalled EVERY GAME and reinstalled the EA App, just downloading one small game, like Into the Breach, I can not even start it. I get an error from the EA App like "Sorry, try later".
I even tried to change the folder where games are installed.
It's not me, it's server-side. It's even not listing the "Last played games" correctly, it stopped counting since the problem started.
Please note Origin works flawlessly for me.
