I am opening another thread with this issue in hope that EA will realize that this is an urgent and widespread problem. Guys, this is why people hate your app and want all games to be on Steam! The app simply won't start, no error message. Rebooted, repaired, reinstalled many times, talked to support chat (twice), deleted cache (manually, as the App Recovery app doesn't work either), enabled that UTF-8 thing... All suggestion in youtube not helped (UTF-8 encoding, reinstalling, update, compatibility mode, run as administrator and etc).

Yesterday everything worked normally. There weren't any windows updates, new application installs or anything. When I click on launcher, nothing happens. I had to see windows event viewer (screenshots provided) to see that the application is crashing.

From the nick I can say that we are in same region. Maybe issue is related to that.

Hello my name is Dragan Donjitek, I bought Battlefield V on steam and wanted to play with my friends when the almighty lord struck me down with link2ea i downloaded the ea app like any mortal would do when i tried starting it and nothing happened no sound was muttered and darkness crept into my soul and mind, i tried uninstalling, repairing, i checked some box in language, i tried compatibility mode, anything i could find online i even downloaded some free uninstaller app and that did nothing, now i sit still in anger and sorrow as my friends play, i scream but no one hears… Please if you know how to help with my problem I’m willing to offer more information and if needed my body…

Hi @SediDole,

Thanks for providing the screenshots showing the error. It seems that you're having issues with urctbase.dll. This file is associated with the Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable package. You can reinstall these by following the steps in this article: Troubleshoot VC++ and .dll errors with EA app

I have played Battlefield 2042, stoped my stream and left for cuple of hours, my pc didn't restart nor did i get any updates, i tried to open FC 25 than i got the error message that i get from BF 2042 after i came back from dinner. I have tried every solution, even opend my ticket case number 196656558
and it got closed with no reply. When i try to resume it there it stays closed, there is no option for me to start a new one.
I have:
- Deleted all files
- Redownloaded on a diffrent drive
- Changed windows 10/11
- Changed user admin accounts
- Changed hardware, but my account from steam when i launch the game i get the same error.
Only the EA Update app works to open in CMD to say "you have the latest version".
I ask you people is there a fix since my ticket was closed.

Well for me it's BF and FC. It takes two works normaly for some reasons...
I'm trying Origin, working, but tells me to update to EA that doesn't work...

I dont know. I cannot run ea app for Gods sake.And i cannot install origin there is some problem too.This is so frustrating.
