Have you tried clearing the cache of the EA app?
You can do this in the EA app itself by going to Help > App Recovery > Clear Cache.
Please let me know if it works, if not, then please try temporarily disabling your VPN/Firewall/Anti-Virus/Proxy and running the EA app as an administrator.
I did the clear cache thing and it just changed from doing nothing to "preparing. calculating time" and stuck there forever
- @EA_Jason turns out it was all my ethernet speed. I sincerely apologize for the trouble, please forgive me. My BF 2042 its updating now. thank you for your time

Thank you so much! I tried updating over and over again because it kept updating then still needing the update. This fixed it!
