When I set the App offline, stop it trying to go online

For pity's sake.

Here's the thing. When I have deliberately chosen "go offline" (which is, for anyone reading, the way to make sure the broken achievements in Legendary ME2/3 on the Steam still work) the app itself then tells me "The app couldn't connect to the servers. We'll keep trying to connect you". and, then it does keep trying to connect you--except it can't, of course, because I've freaking asked it NOT TO.

This means that during games you get the occasional stutter where the app tries again, and again. You know, performance issues caused by Not The Game but the Stupid DRM system EA forces on honest players. Eventually, the app actually stops working and basically goes "A stubborn problem has caused you to be logged out of the [EA app] Restart it etc.

Er, no. That stubborn "problem" was the end user not wanting the app to be online, and that doesn't change. Thing is, when the app does this, it minimises the game. Sometimes, it crashes the game. Now, in this instance, that's fine, I'm actually using the internet and can just log in again. But what if I were actually offline? Because of no internet? In that case, I would not be able to restart the app, or relog in (I tested this). And would not be able to play the game until I could get internet back.

Would you guys program your stupid app to stop this nonsense?

Happens all the time with The Sims 4. Because players want to avoid the updates sometimes, given that they usually break our mods. Why do they have to impose DRM in such a terrible way? Can't they just make it easier for us, like you said, honest players?

  • @Skyrimfall Ops, be careful! When my forum started complaining about EA support shut us down. It's a very convenient way for EA not to hear how dissatisfied we all are. Never got any real help.
  • All of this!!! I'm choosing to play Sims 4 offline because I don't want to update my game before I know it won't break my mods or my game in general since their known to do that with patches and any dlc they come out with.  I'm then forced to have the stutters and also to restart the game if I play it for more than a couple of hours straight because it will force me to restart the app since it couldn't get me back online, like no kidding probably because I purposely took you offline and don't want to be online you stupid app.  No other game app does this, they all accept it when you don't want to play your game online even Origin which I thought was the worst game client you could have, but nope, EA dreamed the impossible dream and made a game client worse than Origin.
