When i try to dowload EA desktop it says something went wrong

Platform:PC

Summarize your bug When i try to dowload EA desktop it says something went wrong
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Try to instal EA play tought xbox game pass
What happens when the bug occurs? it doesnt instal
What do you expect to see? the login screen or something to tell me to press a next button

I tried to install EA desktop but every time it says:

Something went wrong...

have you tried to right-click the installer and run as admin?
Also please check your Log! C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp, look for something like "Origin_Beta_2021080812345.log".

have you tried to right-click the installer and run as admin?
Also please check your Log! C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp, look for something like "Origin_Beta_2021080812345.log".

@eclipsespyder1 I found the same problem but after I installed origin to the same drive the EA app was able to download, I noticed a split second after trying to install the app and just before the error message popping up the EA app installer was trying to uninstall origin not sure why. Hope this helps good luck 🙂

This actually helped - the only thing is that the folder "address" didn't work when I copied it, but you can work around it

Windows Key and E to open file explorer, navigate to Local Disk (C🙂 (or whatever drive your OS is located on), make sure "Hidden Files" is checked under the View tab (Windows 10)
Open ProgramData, then find Package Cache and look for a folder that starts "{C2622085-ABD2-49E5-8AB9-D3D6A642C091}" (there may be a few). If there are multiple the "v_____" number should correlate to version so I picked the highest one to install from but if the app needs an update I'm sure it won't hesitate to complain at you after it's installed.

I'm including screengrabs to make it a bit easier for anyone trying to follow this - I know I can be pretty bad at explaining.
I DID notice the Terms and Conditions are in Latin (go figure) and if you translate them, I'm considering it an easter egg cuz it gave me a giggle
