Why is the EA Service Always Asking me to turn it on ?

When my PC starts up windows 10, something in the EA folder runs, and discovers the EA Service is not running, whereby it tells me to turn it on.

Why do I need this on, if I have chosen not to receive updates, and also I have turned this off.

What does the EA service do if I have turned off auto updates ?

Also, it made my Windows 10 PC crash, due to forcing a backup/resrore point

Why is it doing a restore point in Windows ? This should only be done if the state of the OS is chnaging, and if it subsequently fails it can be restored to the original state, what excatly is the EA service doing that it needs to force a restore point on the OS ?
