Honestly? Unless you can magically turn the new forums into the old forums I'll probably be over at reddit, and I dislike redditAnd that's actually one of the issues with these forums, they feel like they are trying to be somewhere like reddit rather than a simple, easy to use bulletin board.ED: If nothing else, at least give us the option of seeing posts in a thread a page at a time instead of having to click show more umpteen times to see the last page of posts. If theres a way to see for example the 1st 10 & last 10 in a long thread without seeing everything else I havent figured it.

Having gotten some sleep and able the ability to come at this with a clearer head, I want to clarify my disappointment and frustration...First, EA_Nils, I want to emphasize that I truly do appreciate that the team has heard us, acknowledged us and clearly understands the issues that we have with the new forums. I understand that fixing these issues will take time. That said, I don't understand why these issues exist at all. I mean, we're talking issues as fundamental as the site staying up and functional, links directing correctly, login authentication working. I don't understand how this site could even go live with such foundational problems.Then we get into the functionality problems - like sorting and being able handle long threads - that, to my mind, demonstrate that the underlying code of this site is completely unsuited to the community needs. I don't understand why this site was chosen in the first place. You talk about a Soft Launch. A Soft Launch is defined as "a preview release of a product or service to a limited audience prior to the general public. Soft-launching a product is sometimes used to gather data or customer feedback, prior to making it widely available during an official release or grand opening. A company may also choose a soft launch to test the functionality of a product, allowing adjustments to be made before a wider release and marketing efforts are implemented." [Soft launch - Wikipedia] How is this a Soft Launch? The forums were not released to a limited audience, but to everyone. The old forums were taken down almost immediately and are no longer available. We have been given the choice of using these forums, or finding another community, or giving up entirely.I submit that this is not a Soft Launch. This is the launch of non-functional service and trying to PR spin it's many, fundamental, and critical failures by calling it a Soft Launch.So, yeah... I am disappointed and frustrated.

Well, I will say that clearly, you've heard us. Still, I just can't help but be disappointed and frustrated. It's like every customer service tech who says "thank you for your patience" ... but I'm not patient. I'm not happy about a long soft launch journey. I don't see these as teething problems. Disappointed and frustrated. That's what I think, presented in the politest way I can manage.

I am so sad that the old forum is no longer used. I didn’t post much but regularly read through. This one I just don’t like at all!! I don’t know where to find the things I used to read and enjoy and keep having to press more. It’s so annoying. I hardly come here now. I just don’t like it. Please bring back the old forum 🙏

Appreciate the update.I think you need to prioritize these issues as the feeling I'm getting is that this transition have lost a lot of people on the way. I used to frequent the general discussions for the sims4 but people don't seem to post much there anymore.Threads are also getting buried in bug reporting threads which I don't understand why they are a part of this site when we have Answer HQ, it just sounds like a lot of work to have another site for bug reporting.The logout for being idle is also way too short, surely your servers should allow for people to stay logged in at the site? Why have a logout for being idle at all?

My one major concern (especially for the sims 4 which has been archiving threads for 10 years now.) is if you're going to move the old posts over here? I mean, there's a ton of already answered questions that are easy to search and find over there but if you just scrub that site, all those answers will be gone. Not to mention just a legion of already posted bug reports and a very well-organized forum. I don't' want to have to start posting new threads for bugs that have been around for 5 or more years and having reactions from the sim team acting like it's a new bug that's never been heard of before.

I'm not sure how much more can be changed when you have this forum interconnected with all the other EA forums that basically all use the same coding. The old forum used to be a place I hanged out a lot years ago, now this new one just feels lifeless while the colors are atrocious. Safe to say I will not be using up my time here again; there are better organized Sims community social spaces I'm already apart of, but I will miss what we lost...

I appreciate the update and the effort, but I still miss the old forums overall; I've been posting there for years and I couldn't even get my badges, comments, posts, etc back...I still show up as a newbie here and can't have a customized profile pic, which is confusing to find my own posts in a discussion with so many people using the same avatar as me.
Anyway, I'm still hoping here! Cheers guys! 💗

In some ways this forum is better than the old one. I like the bold feature on here. It's quicker then the older bold feature on the old forums but I want the features on the old forums we lost.
Our original avatars. I know this is being worked on but I hope it will return to the new forums soon.
When you click on a thread you should be taken to were you left off aka newest. On this forum it resets to most liked.
Page up and page down.
This forum has an issue with lag. It takes forever to open a thread.
Book marking needs to be bought back.
We need the following subforums back

Please make it to were we can bookmark subforums on the mobile version especially android. On the previous forums I was able to bookmark sub forums on my phone's homescreen and go directly to them.

OK, so it's been three months since you took our forum from us and forced us into this hot mess. I have yet to see ONE improvement in that time although you claimed to be working on it two months ago. What a huge disappointment this forum has been and obviously will continue to be. There used to be a community of simmers who enjoyed being together on a friendly forum where you didn't have to be a "hero" or "staff" or a nobody. Posts were easy to find and reply to. Now everyone has split up and gone their separate ways into smaller groups at other forums. I fear this is as good as this forum is going to get and that you are not working to bring us the changes we have all requested. As a result, I will be hanging out at Sim Creatives, a very friendly site created by SnuffyBucket and moderated by MonaSolstraale. See you there!

I'm just getting used to this new forums, I've been a player for years and thanks to some technical error I was unable to retrieve my old badges, my old posts, etc, so I only show up as a newcomer for some reason...Another think I really disliked about the new forum was the inability of choosing your own profile picture except from a little percentage of people that have helped others a lot.
Still have to try to get used to it but I really miss the old forums.

I just logged into the forums again for the first time in months/a year and lost all my 10 years worth of badges and now I'm classified as a new user? Is this a mistake or will my badges eventually come back. Pretty upsetting I lost all the stuff with this new forum website.

  new forum style. everything is lost including the a lot of the migration stuff that was supposed to be transferred as it was threads started by old staffmembers. and one of the requirements was the OP having a account on AHQ. fired people don't evidentally so lots of stuff is gone.

I'm curious how this new ranking system was set up. I feel like I was in a higher ranking on the old forums and I am a higher ranked player on EA Answers HQ but I'm a newbie over here 😅 ~~Is there a place here that explains the ranking set up? I haven't stumbled across that info yet.~~ Thank you 💜
