What purpose does the EA forum serve?

What purpose does the forum or any "support" entity of EA even serve? In the information age, you cant get prompt responses on game-specific forums here, and of all the threads I have read in this area, the community managers basically say "there is nothing we can do." Why even run the things if you are either hamstrung into being unable to do anything, or are fundamentally unwilling to provide any help?

    You mention Steam in your post so just want to be sure.

  • Here is the post I left on the DS3 area of the forum, detailing what I saw, and what I tried:

    I have tried fresh installs of EA app and DS3, my accounts are linked, I have tried running compatibility modes for win 7 and 8, running as admin, clearing caches, verifying integrity of game cache, restarting my pc multiple times, disabling both steam and EA app overlays. I do not understand what is going wrong. I launch the game, it says "preparing game" in the EA app, screen goes black with cursor loading wheel, then it closes and EA says "failed to start the game." Please help.

    I understand the frustration here. Sometimes when you're trying to fix a specific issue it feels like you're being redirected from one place to another without getting a clear answer. From what I’ve seen, the forum is mostly meant for players helping each other rather than direct technical support.

     

    For the Dead Space 3 launch issue, it might help to share more details like your platform, any error message you see, or what exactly happens when you try to start the game. That usually makes it easier for someone in the community to recognize the problem and suggest a solution.

    What is happening when you cannot launch the game GorgutzWaaagh​?

    Sorry, my frustration led me to not be specific. Im stuck being unable to launch dead space 3 specifically. Every support function I try to use regarding that game specifically seems to lead back to the forum where I've not received any response for my question; thus leading to me posting here in further frustration.

    The support site is full of help articles GorgutzWaaagh​ and you can speak with our live support team there who are not AI.

    If you need help with an issue then we are happy to help but you need to share information with us.

    Well the support site links directly to this forum, so I fail to see the distinction. The support site is exclusively an AI that directs you away from the support site. If its EA's prerogative to delegate support back to community managers, id encourage you all to just quit so that at least the entire structure collapses.

    I think you are confusing a support site with a community site GorgutzWaaagh​.

    Direct 121 support is provided by our live support

    On the forums we are community driven, it's about creating a space where players can help players and there's also a number of us CMs here to help where and when we can.

    We cannot get to every post but we try to get to as many as possible and support where we can.
