Account Hijacked and cant get ahold of EA Support

I bought Battlefield 6 on Steam last night. When I go to start the game, EA wants me to verify my identity. The options are to be emailed a code or the Authenticator App. The Authenticator app never works and the email it wants to send the code to is not mine. I researched the email address, and it's a known hacker from Russia. Please help... I just need the EA account that is linked to my Steam account removed so I can relink mine and enjoy my game..

**bleep**, how many exactly are people having the exact same issue as this? I only found out that my EA account got hacked through the same way (authenticating my Steam account to access BF6) and my account’s email credentials have been swapped to a malicious email instead. Is this such a widespread issue?

  • Lots of us having the same problem and receiving no help. It's ridiculous that EA even allows accounts to be made with these spam email domains that are only used for malicious reasons

The thing is, my account got its email changed without: 1. Confirmation through e-mail that my EA account’s credentials have changed, and 2. I’ve been using 2FA for my EA account for YEARS at this point and yet the e-mail change was authorized for some reason. This is such a major security blunder here at EA.

  • all the "cyber attacks" we hear about.. My main Microsoft account for my PC has fallen victim to this as well.  Its left me with the crappiest feeling.. I've spent SO much **bleep** money and spent sooo much time on these games that I could potentially loose access to forever. EA, something really needs to be done about this. The fact that i cant get ahold of ANYONE in support of this wide spread problem is the most alarming part.

  • Ok this seriously needs to get figured out... I just tried creating an entirely new EA account. Tried linking it to Steam and apparently only 1 EA account can be linked to Steam in its lifetime.. The fire is lit. EA you are going to determine how big it gets. There are a ton of people with this same problem. This could get very messy considering the amount of time and money people have invested.

  • Same happening to me, bought and dowloaded bf6 went to play, but pop up says my EA account linked to my xbox is deactivated i looked up my xbox account and someone in russia made an EA account connected to my xbox and now i cant connect my EA account to my xbox when i try it says an EA account is already connected and its some russian email not mine... the only way is for EA to kick the fraudulent account connected to my xbox. So i can reconnect my EA account but i have been trying for 2 days just to make contact to resolve this issue and havent gotten anywhere

yeah ive been in "support" queue for 2 days. i just refunded all my ea games on my steam and made a new account, pirated sims and will BF6 once its cracked, **bleep** this company

  • What makes it even more trash of a situation is one EA account is connected to one xbox/PS/ steam  for a LIFETIME so if EA doesnt resolve the issue amd they are the only ones who can, then i cant play their games.... like if they knew well enough the the EA account connected to my xbox was deactivated why did they even let me buy the game and waste the 70$ in the first place. just to then download the game, start it up and not allow me to access the game because some russian **bleep** with a spam email make an EA account and link it to my microsft/xbox account.. this is absolultley insane

same issue here. been waiting on chat support for 18 hours just watching the wait time fluctuate from "1min-100min"... really EA? 37 billion dollar company with no one to speak to on support. giving it 2 more days until i refund and just buy bo7 instead

  • I'm having similar issues. First time I try to use my EA account and it appears that someone hacked it 2 years ago to sell coins (which got my EA account banned) and changed the email without me confirming it. Now they refuse to help me because I can't provide the email the hacker used.
