BF6 Does not pull friends into game when matchmaking

Anybody else had issues where they start a custom search and there friends don't get pulled into the game? 

God **bleep** frustrating!

Seems to be a cross play to console/PC issue

All these issues are intermittent. Sometimes it works ok, next it doesn't. The pattern we've noticed is your character stands facing you when you start match making, that's when we notice it doesn't work.
