linking Xbox account and someone else’s gamertag is there?

 I download battlefield 6 and changed my password because it said I have not played in a while. But when I went to link my Xbox another gamertag showed. I have probably been hacked. EA no response to ticket. It said I can unlink account and do a new one? Does this mess anything up.
