Lost all my Battlefield 6 progress — EA support says relinking is impossible
Hello,
I am looking for clarification regarding the six-month Steam ↔ EA account linking restriction.
I found this EA forum discussion:
The post states:
“In order to get your progress back, you will have to relink the accounts to what they were previously linked to. If you explain your situation, Support can help you redo those links before the six month limit.”
This is exactly the type of situation I am dealing with. I need to restore my Steam account to the EA account it was previously linked to.
Unfortunately, after the accounts were linked differently, I lost access to almost a year of my Battlefield 6 progress associated with the previous account.
I contacted EA Support and asked for help restoring the previous Steam ↔ EA account link. The support agent told me:
“Unfortunately we have no way to help you in unlinking again from EA account to Steam as we have no such ability to redo the process.”
I specifically asked whether this was due to a change in the current process. I was told that process changes are not necessarily posted on the community forums.
I understand that policies and procedures can change. However, the information currently published by EA says that Support can help restore previous account links before the six-month restriction expires.
Therefore, I would like to clarify:
Is the information in the forum post still valid?
If EA Support can no longer restore a previous Steam ↔ EA account link before the six-month restriction expires, has this procedure officially been discontinued?
This is particularly important in my case because I have already lost access to almost a year of Battlefield 6 progress as a result of the current account linking situation.
I am not asking for the security or account ownership verification requirements to be bypassed. I am asking whether there is still a supported procedure for restoring the previous account configuration in cases like mine.
If there is a current official policy or updated guidance regarding this situation, I would appreciate being directed to it.
Thank you.
