Missing Games & 2FA Issues After Security-Driven Account Merge
Hello EA Team,
I recently merged two EA accounts — one created on PC and another created through Xbox (linked to my Xbox profile). I did not know I had two accounts until I tried to play the Battlefield 6 beta and discovered that the EA account linked to my Xbox profile had its email changed to a Russian mail.ru address without my knowledge.
After working with EA Support to regain access, we determined that merging the two accounts was the safest way to consolidate my games and protect my data. Support advised merging into the Xbox-linked account to preserve existing game progress.
After the merge:
Some games transferred successfully (The Sims 4, The Saboteur, Dragon Age: Inquisition with DLCs, and some Command & Conquer titles), but others did not:
- Missing from Command & Conquer: The Ultimate Collection: Only C&C 3, C&C 4, and Red Alert 3 transferred. Since the collection is only sold as a complete bundle, partial ownership strongly indicates I purchased the full set.
- Missing entirely: Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
I believe this may be an oversight, as the partial transfer of bundle-only content should point to full ownership.
Additional Issue:
After the merge, I tried to update the account’s email, username, and phone number to match my established gaming identity.
These details are already “in use” — likely still tied to the deactivated account — preventing me from aligning this merged account with my standard gaming profile.
This creates a security concern:
Because I cannot attach my phone number, I am unable to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) with it. Given that one of my accounts was recently compromised, being unable to secure my account with my phone number is a major vulnerability.
My Goals:
- Restore the missing Ultimate Collection titles and Medal of Honor: Allied Assault.
- Free up my preferred email, username, and phone number so they can be linked to my active EA account.
- Enable 2FA with my phone number for proper account security.
EA Support informed me they could not recover “sunset” titles and advised me to post here to see if community managers or higher-level support could assist.
