Unlink
My Xbox account is locked to an EA account that uses an email I no longer have access to. I can’t log in, I can’t unlink it, and I can’t find any way to contact EA directly—there’s no “Contact Us” option showing for me.
I made this account just to try to reach someone who can actually help. This is blocking me from using my Xbox games properly and I’m out of options.
Can an EA staff member please help me unlink my Xbox from the old EA account so I can connect it to my current one?
This isn't something we can do on the forums. I'll do my best to guide you though. For starters, it's important to know that unlinking the Xbox from the EA account comes with risks:
Heads-up: If you unlink your platform account and link it to a different EA Account, any entitlements, like in-game rewards, points, and items, will remain on the EA Account that your platform was first linked to.
If you'd like to ensure the Xbox is linked to an EA account with an updated email address, you can update the email address on the current EA account without needing to remove the Xbox link and losing access to your progress and items.
One way is to try to recover access to the older email address. If you can, you'll be able to receive the password reset to log in and update the email on file. Here's what our guide suggests for that:
If you can’t access the email account attached to your EA Account, get in touch with your email service provider (like Yahoo or Gmail) to see if you can recover it. Most providers let you recover your account by:
- resetting your password
- answering security questions
- verifying your identity or alternative email address associated with that account.
