Issue Sending Friend Pass Request from PS5 to PS4

Hey guys weird issue,

So for the longest time my friend and I would play It Takes Two over Internet. Using my PS5 as a base and he'd friend pass on PS4. This all went fine until he got a PS5 and suddenly was unable to see the request on the PS4. He can send me a request and I see it fine.

My question being is there some kind of primary console thing going on here. Where the request is now getting sent to the PS5 instead of the PS4 and is there a way to fix this? Either on my end or his.
