It takes two - doesn't recognise Steam controllers as gamepads

HI, I recently purchased It takes Two for my twins to play local co-op usiing 2 steam controllers.  However the game only recognizes one (as player one) and indicates it as a keyboard.  Any ideas how to sort this out? Thanks

    I'm having the exact same problem, which is kinda ridiculous because the game is advertised as coop-only. Ive tried messing around with the controller settings but nothing seems to work.
