@AnotherCharLatte If you have a moment, could you try to run Wild Hearts without running it as admin?
Just run it from the client, and make sure under properties you don't have it saved to always run as admin and check if the game will launch now. @EA_Illium Oh gosh, I'm sorry for the late reply, my partner was off yesterday so we got back into the game.
Yes, the game is not running with adminPlatform: PC,Windows 10, Steam, CPU: I7:7700k, 16gb RAM
Region: US
Error Message: There is no error message. I press play, a window of EA play login pops up then EA app desktop launches minimizes and comes back up.
Date this issue started: 2/17/2023 - game never opened
Report ID: 3aa027a2-62a2-44fd-a4d0-8e0edea9f055I have tried:
- launching game directly from folder -normally and as admin
- launching from EA app, while game is installed by steam
- closing all steam/EA app related tasks and running game via steam/EA app/from folder
- clearing cache in EA app
- checking steam game integrity
- running game in compatibility mode
- reinstalling the game on steam several times
- updating drivers
- disabling antivirus
- steam is correctly linked with EA Play
- running the game and or EA app as admin
- stopping onedrive
- uncheck run as admin in compatibility settings
- moving game folder from SSD to Hard Drive
Its been a full week since the game really released and people are still completely unable to even launch the game not considering performance issues and there's no troubleshooting fix, its not migration, it's not corrupted files, its not out of date drivers, its been confirmed before that its not included in the upcoming patch, is there any time frame for this because its really disappointing
Agreed. @EA_Illium for vis.
Here is the solution that worked for me: Uninstall EA App, Wild Heart and Steam, create a new administrator account and reinstall EA App, Wild Heart and Steam. After you uninstall EA App, just to be on the safe side, remember to go to the root folder (mine is at C: Program Files/ Electronic Arts) and delete the whole empty EA folder.
To create a new administrator account on your PC (Win 11), go to Start--Right click on your avatar--Change account settings--Family & other users--Other users (you may try "your family" but I prefer "other users")--Add someone else to this PC--Enter a Microsoft email address which is different from your main account--Add the new email address as a new account and make this account as an Administrator.
After creating the new administrator account, log in to this new account and download Steam. Then download and reinstall Wild Hearts through Steam (check the box to create a desktop shortcut for the game).
After the installation, use the shortcut to run Wild Heart. Steam will ask you to download EA App, follow the instructions and install EA App, and the game will continue to run.
Wait for a few seconds and you should be able to see the loading screen of Wild Hearts now.
I don't know the mechanism behind the account trick, but it did work for me. Hope it also works for you.
@dynisa Oh my god that actually worked, thank you so much.
Also seems like you can't just switch back to your old account after installing the game, still the same issue.
Sadly this did not work for me. Same results as before. Appreciate the support in finding an answer and sharing these though!
@Fluzzeh Yes, you need to stay in the new administrator acount in order to play Wild Hearts. I hope EA will address this launch issue in future patches.
@dynisaThis really isn't directed at you; but anyone.... anyone.... who thinks this is an acceptable solution, or even a valid work-around, is part of the problem.
