I'm not OP but I am encountering the same issue. Do you have some sort of fix I could apply or a solution to this same problem?

I am playing on pc. I have the friends pass downloaded on steam. Here's a video of what happens when I click play on steam. I'm also not receiving any error messages, it just starts up then closes.
Community ManagerThanks for sharing the video. Usually, when the game tries to launch but it doesn't crash or show any error messages, it could be a program running in the background conflicting with it, or a permission issue. To rule that out, you can try running the game and the launcher as an admin and performing a Clean Boot.
So I first ran steam as administrator and then launched the game as admin as well, and it said something along the lines of running install script (microsoft c distributable) or something and then it just went back to play. So that didn't work. Then I tried the Clean Boot but that didn't change anything either unfortunately.
