Split Fiction Disconnecting and Freezing

My partner and I have been enjoying the game so far but there's times when we boot up the game and there's constant freezing which messes with cutscenes and co-op areas, and when it's not freezing it'll disconnect every 20ish minutes. anyone know a fix to this?

AidennEntity Hey, there have been others saying they are being disconnected every 1-20 minutes give or take as well.

Which platforms are yall playing on?
Does this happen in specific areas or levels?
Are y'all playing on the friends pass or do you both own the game?
Does this happen regardless of who invites who?

We're both playing on PC and we both own the game on Steam. It happens regardless on who hosts but the freezing is less frequent when hosting through EA, when hosting through steam it always happens. The disconnect error happens when it's NOT freezing and will occur every 30/20 ish minutes but I notice they mainly occur when getting past a main event (such as defeating a boss or right after a cutscene). There's no specific area where the freezing happens, there's times where it doesn't happen and then when we play through the same area again it starts freezing.

AidennEntity I appreciate the info. I see a few things mentioning it. Finishing events and cut scenes are mentioned a bit, too. What I would need from you is a DxDiag>

If they could post on here with their account and attach one as well.

Unless there's a lot of players saying the same thing, these are hard to test out and reproduce. We got to look at the system first. I am looking for more though to see if there is a common theme.

AidennEntity Thanks, so from your file, this is what I found.

RADAR_PRE_LEAK_64: This is a diagnostic event indicating potential memory leaks in applications. It appears for several executables:
      - REPO.exe
      - RobloxPlayerBeta.exe
      - MedalEncoder.exe
      - SplitFiction.exe
      - BoplBattle.exe

These reports suggest that these applications might not be managing memory efficiently, which could lead to performance issues or crashes.

MoAppCrash: This event indicates that an application has crashed. The affected application is:

     - Microsoft Xbox Gaming Overlay (GameBar.exe)
The crash error code c0000005 suggests an access violation, which often occurs due to attempts to read or write protected memory.

MoBEX: This is another type of application crash related to:
      - TranslucentTB
The error code c0000409 indicates a stack buffer overrun, which might be due to a bug in the application.

    Recommended Steps:

    1. Update Applications: Ensure all applications are updated to their latest versions, as patches may fix these issues.
    2. Check for Memory Leaks: Use tools like Windows Performance Monitor or third-party applications to analyze and address memory leaks.
    3. Reinstall Problematic Applications: If issues persist, consider reinstalling the applications to ensure no corrupted files are causing the errors.

AidennEntity Thanks! This is what it pulled up.

The diagnostics report you provided includes multiple error reports. Here's a brief summary of the issues:

    1. RADAR_PRE_LEAK_64: This indicates a potential memory leak in applications like SplitFiction.exe, TuneupSvc.exe, and OverwolfBrowser.exe. These are often warnings rather than critical errors.
    2. MoAppCrash: This error is related to Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay, indicating a crash in the application.
    3. APPCRASH: Several entries are related to crashes of minecraft.exe involving libcef.dll. This suggests a recurring issue with the Minecraft application, possibly due to the CEF (Chromium Embedded Framework) component.
    4. AppHangB1: This error indicates that javaw.exe experienced a hang, which means it stopped responding. This might be related to Java applications running on your system.

    Recommendations:

    - For memory leaks: Monitor the applications for updates or patches that might address these leaks. Consider restarting the system or applications to clear temporary issues.

    - For application crashes: Update the affected applications (e.g., Minecraft, Xbox Gaming Overlay) to their latest versions. Check for compatibility issues or corrupted files.

    - For application hangs: Ensure Java is up-to-date. Check the specific Java application for known issues or updates.

I would start reinstalling or repairing the programs above. Get rid of unwanted files with the steps on the Troubleshooting Link as it has a lot of steps for cleaning out the PC and tuning it up.

Can you send a link for Xbox players? I game share with my friend who owns it, almost every level  within 5 mins all the time. Just spend a hour trying to defeat dancing monkey and we are barely making mistakes -_-

AidennEntity You cannot run that for Xbox as it is only a PC thing. Have you been able to get past that part? Apologies for delay.
